Ways to avoid package fees for usps shipping.

In this post, I will tell you about my time shipping with usps. Why not to use usps flat rate, and the fee you will pay. What boxes should use and what boxes to order from usps.

Do you order free supplies from usps?

I do, and the boxes are free and great to use. But the question has always been what boxes should you use? The boxes you should use are not flat rate and are mailing boxes. Which are free. Those boxes are better to use and will help you avoid fees unless you ship with flat rate boxes like large. Why should I ship with these and not flat rate? The question is for you, is when or maybe on every item you ship, but you have a chance of getting fined by usps for 10 to 15$ unless you pay more and ship with flat rate. So, unless you do that do not use any flat rate boxes.

Have I ever had to pay a fee?

I do order usps boxes. I ordered a lot of free flat rates boxes. I usually don't get charged or would just pay it in the past. But this year I have been watching my expenses. So, I saw the fee on eBay, and had no choice but to pay it. The charged was 12.64. I tried fighting the fee to get my money back, by contacting eBay, which they did nothing, other than Ebay gave me the reference number with usps. I thought it was because the dimension was wrong. I email the usps verify postage help email address and tried to file a case. I sent everything I had. After no response for a couple days, I contacted USPS. I talked to a couple people, and one was a little aggravating. I did get told to contact eBay, which I did, just to get the same answer and the reference Id. I kept contacting USPS, to get someone who would do something and help. But after a few times, I did get help.  The lady gave me some answers and got some information on the case. The case would take a week to find out if the refund is approved or not. If the refund is approved, then Ebay would refund me. Then, after a week of nothing happening. The fees were fair in their system, and nothing could be done. I was upset. So, the next day, I went to the credit union bank I have within a few miles, talked to a representative, and gave them all information to file a dispute. Then a week later, the bank told me nothing could be done by mailing me a letter. I just said, forget it. I learned not to use USPS large flat rate unless I ship with flat rate which cost more than Priority by weight unless the weight is more than 5 Pounds. So, I ordered more usps mailing boxes, which cost nothing as in free, and just decided to move on. The free flat rate boxes are in the living room and when I get time, I will take them up to the post office.

What boxes should I use?

The boxes that you should use can be either usps mailing boxes, or any cardboard box. As long as the box isn't too beat up to use. Yes, you can use recycle boxes, order free mailing boxes which are good for shipping with priority, or even order certain types of cardboard boxes based on size, on Ebay or Amazon, but you will have to pay a price, but you can order a decent quantity to be delivered to you. Just don't ship with USPS flat rate because you will eventually get fined. So, unless you ship with flat rate of small, medium, or large, avoid getting or using those boxes to ship stuff out in. Another tip is to weight items with a scale, and always try to use proper dimension to what the box size is so you don't get flagged for that. But with shipping, it can be hard to learn what works, so this is a few pointers to help you out as a seller. Also, watch both videos to see more tools to help you out with shipping.

What to do if you order flat rate boxes?

These boxes are free, and you may still try to take your chances. But if you have ordered these and have no use for them, you can't sell the boxes or donate the boxes to goodwill. I believe by law, you are to either use them for shipping, or take them back to USPS. The boxes usually have a trademark or copyright saying something about on the side or bottom. So, if you did order these and have no use, take them up to the post office, and ask what to do. Also, tell the lady or man, that you don't need the boxes and want to return them to post office. This cost nothing to return the boxes and avoid any trouble that could come with selling the boxes or donating them, unless that is done to help a business out. Which helps everyone out in the long run.

So, after reading everything, you have learned a few things about how I been dealing with usps. The right boxes to use and the ones to avoid. The fees and useful information on shipping stuff out. Feel free to subscribe to my YouTube channel, and to my blog. Comment any suggestions you have.
