Introduction
This blog is on my review of the ps2 game of Smackdown Here comes the pain. I got this game in 2003 for christmas. This is one of my favorites in the ps2 wwe series. I tell you what I liked, and what I would have liked to see. All telling you about the roster, and who else could have made the game. I also give what I like, the roster, and who should have made the game. Also, one-time appearance wrestlers in the game like Sean O'haire, and Rodney Mack. The season mode is what definitely made this game great which is something that wwe needs in modern games. The create a mode was great. I will say I do miss it even into product the titantrons or entrance video that is more than a picture. Scroll down to see my thoughts.
Intro Songs
The intro to the show?
Back in 2003, raw and smackdown both had great opening theme. Raw with the union underground theme, and Smackdown with it's been a long time even though Beautiful People was my favorite for Smackdown. But the theme of it's been a long time with the summer of 2003 intro was great to see and I enjoyed the song. I wish wwe could find a way to use this song again because it definitely has nostalgic feel to me because I was getting into wwe around this time.
Playing The Game
What I like and dislike about the game?
I have had this game since December 2003, and I played it a lot when I was younger. I definitely did until the following year of getting Smackdown Vs Raw. What I like about the game was a few things. I enjoyed the royal rumble and how easy it was to eliminate someone. That I would play that at times. I enjoyed the roster because it had just about everyone from the time. The roster was so unique. I see why this is a lot of people favorite game in the Smackdown series. It's my second favorite to Shut Your Mouth. The season mode was so cool with you being able to play a full year and you could win titles, and the storylines were cool. I did like that you could fight or team with Vince Mcmahon. I also enjoyed the build a stable story line. That I could request titles shot for any belt and team with anyone from that show that was available for selection. I do like that the shop zone store. That you can earn money by winning matches and going through season mode. You can unlock bra and panties outfit which the match was new to the game, as well as legends, and alternative to wrestlers like Brock Lesnar, Triple H, and Undertaker.
Matches and what else?
I do like the new addition to the game like Bra and Panties and definitely did as a teenager. I also like that you can show blood or play the first blood match using the head meter, and the new body meter. As well as create a wrestler, look at titantron and listen to music as in themes of wrestlers in the move set for create a wrestler. Which was like watching a rock and roll video like music video which I do miss, and which would be great to see come back. I also like that you can create a stable with anyone that is in the game. Even if its people that you create of wrestlers in the following year. of WWE or following game. That you get to add a song, video, and entrance for all together. My favorite is the DX like entrance.
Dislike anything?
I can say over than the harder difficulties, I can say that I wish some of the cut wrestlers like Jeff Hardy could have made the game. I would say I wish that this game kept the commentary of Tazz and Michael Cole or Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler but it's fine without it. I know it got cut out. I would have also liked to hear the ring announcer. But the next game had both and I'm fine with this game not having it. But definitely a great game overall.
Roster Section
The Roster?
Definitely a stacked roster on both shows. Just like shut your mouth, you have a roster of both shows. As in raw and Smackdown. Which back then Raw was on Monday night and Smackdown was on Thursday night. I will say the smack your tv commercials and the commercials for this game were great!
Raw - Triple H, Batista, Randy Orton, Ric Flair, Booker T, Rob Van Dam, The Dudley's Boyz, Christian, Chris Jericho, Eric Bischoff, Goldberg, Goldust, Jazz, Lita, Trish Stratus, Lance Storm, Kevin Nash, Scott Steiner, Steve Austin, Rico, Test, The Hurricane, The Rock, Steven Richard, Victoria, Kane, Rodney Mack only game he's in, Val Venis, and HBK Shawn Michaels.
Smackdown - Kurt Angle, A-train, Brock Lesnar, Sean O'haire and his only appearance in a game, Big Show, Undertaker, Charlie Hass, Shelton Benjamin, Chris Benoit, Rhyno, Torrie Wilson, Sable, Eddie Guerrero, Chavo Guerrero, John Cena, Matt Hardy V1, Rey Mysterio, Tajiri, Edge, Stephanie Mcmahon, Rikishi, Vince Mcmahon even though he can appear on both shows, and Ultimo Dragon.
Legends - Iron Sheik, George Steele, Road Warriors Hawk and Animal, Hillbilly Jim, Superfly Jimmy Snuka, Sgt. Slaughter, Ted Dibiase, Roddy Piper, The Undertaker 90s, and Nicholai Volkoff.
NPC - Not Playable - Jim Ross, Tazz, Jerry Lawler can be used in season mode in some matches, Michael Cole, The Coach - Johathan Coachman, Linda Mcmahon, Earl Hebner, and Mike Chioda.
Which Superstars that got cut?
Hulk Hogan, Hulk Hogan (Legend), Ultimate Warrior, Al Snow, Billy Gunn, Billy Kidman, Bradshaw, Jamal, Jeff Hardy, Molly Holly, Rosey, Spike Dudley, and William Regal. Also, Mr. America and Jerry Lawler didn't make the game.
People I thought Should Have Made It but didn't?
Well besides all that got cut I would say, Brian Kendrick - Spanky, Funaki, Jamie Noble, Nidia, Christopher Nowinski, Maven, Mark Henry, La Resistance as Rob Conway, Rene Dupree, and Sylvain Grenier, Shane Mcmahon, Crash Holly, Nathan Jones, Shannon Moore, Mick Foley, and Farooq. I would also throw in on the list, Scotty 2 Hotty and Hardcore Holly both spent most of the year injured so I understand why both didn't make this year game but did make Smackdown vs raw the following year. I know he passed in June, but a legend appearance of Freddie Blassie would have been nice. I would have also liked to see the FBI as in Chuck Palumbo, Nunzio, and Johnny the Bull.
Managers - I would say it would have been nice to see Paul Heyman, Miss Jackie, Theordore Long, or even Paul Bearer. like be used as playing as with manager matches. But none of them made the game.
Closing Thoughts!
This game was definitely fun to play growing up. I definitely enjoy this game more than did I did in the past of playing the 2k games. This game had a great roster, and great matches and stuff to do while playing in exhibition mode. The roster was definitely unique. Even though I do wish we got an invasion game like Just bring it should have been even though you do have a good bit of each roster of the 90s as well as new stars of the 2000s like Randy Orton and John Cena. So, this game definitely delivers and great to play for a lot of wrestling fans like me. So, if you get into older wrestling games or ps2 games, this is definitely something worth checking out in a video game store or online like eBay. I wish I had one for sale but not selling the only copy I got but feel free to check out what else I have for sale on here.

Bad Blood 2024 wwe Ple Was Okay But The Returns Were...
This post talks about the Peacock PLE on Saturday, October 5th, 2024. The PLE was alright, but the return of The Rock and Goldberg made the PLE in my opinion. What Did I Think Of The Smackdown Premiere on USA Network
This post is about the Smackdown Premiere of 9/13/2024 on USA Network. I watched it on YouTube using WWE matches. I made a playlist. I give my thoughts on each match, segment, intro, etc. I feel Roman, Solo and Cody were the biggest reason I stayed watching for the whole show. The show was okay, and the intro was not good.
